reunion

i went to CSA yesterday.

surreal.

i wasn't used to seeing a lot of people wearing the same thing.
especially that uniform that i've worn almost all of my life.

they say that high school days are the best days one could ever have.
i agree.  when i was strolling around the campus, and seeing all those spots that made me look back on all the memories that i've shared with my friends, i can't help missing them all.

the corps office, where we tambay almost all of our time.  making awards for the encampment, fixing receipts, useless meetings that we have because of the constant weird hirits of natnat and brian, to which we can't help laughing our hearts out.  it was such a happy site because we were all bonded.  we were a family.  i was delighted to know that the new officers this year are also pretty good.  i guess that's the legacy we have left behind - being dedicated to our work and giving honor to the things we did. (ma'am valdez brags of us being the best set of officers ever!)

the covered courts, where we have our intrams volleyball.  hopelessly learning to spike serve, tossing macky the ball eventhough my toss is all over the place, gliding on the concrete ground while getting macky's serve, and just simply releasing the stress we have from mr. feria. :)

the canteen, where we have our lunches! duh...where freedom was in our hands, and we can text all we want without being caught.  although we still have to be discreet. ;)

the theatre, where i remember ara and i talked a lot while waiting for her white hi-ace van.

the high school building  (though it already looks like some detention center) , where most friendships were formed, and failing marks on tests (especially math and accounting) were gotten used to.  teachers were like friends (except for basilio), and friends were like, again, family.  the four years of relationships, friendships and acquaintances, competition, rivalry, belongingness, bonding, unity, and connection.
the late-night practices for sabayang pagbigkas or the songfest...the preparation for the cheering competition...the set-up for fr. mazana's or whoever's birthday...or other responsibilities that ms. ekid bombard us with...

there's just too much to say.  too much memories that gradually fade away as we continue living the life that we've dreamt of...

but remembering will always bring smiles or tears to our faces...and that alone makes the ride worthwhile...

what can i say, high school IS the best.

Remembering the past gives power to the present.
